How do I play?
Every day there's one mystery footballer. You start with a single hint and have six guesses to name them. Each miss reveals the next clue — nationality, club, league, age, shirt number — along with a short AI "Scout's Read". Name the player and you win; the fewer guesses you spend, the more points you score.
How is my score worked out?
Score depends on how few guesses you needed: 100 points on the first guess, then 80, 60, 40, 20 and 10 down to the sixth. Solve it early to bank the most, and keep your day streak alive by playing every day.
What's the daily player and the leaderboard?
The daily player is the same mystery footballer for everyone that day, so scores are comparable and you keep a day streak for playing day after day. The leaderboard ranks total scores for today, this week and all time, with each player's streak shown alongside.
Are the player facts real?
Yes. Every clue — position, nationality, club, league, age and shirt number — is a real fact about a real footballer, based on publicly available information. The only thing the AI writes is the cosmetic scouting hint.
Does the AI decide anything?
No. The answer is a real player and the clues are real facts. The AI pundit only adds a "Scout's Read" — pure colour and a nudge — and it never reveals the name or changes your score.
The scout said something odd.
The hints are AI-generated, so an occasional strange line can slip through. It's purely cosmetic and can't affect scores. If something looks wrong, email us a screenshot and we'll improve it.
Do I need an internet connection?
The game itself — hints, your guesses, the reveal and scoring — works fully offline. Only the live AI scouting hint and the leaderboard need a connection; without one, the app falls back to built-in lines, so a puzzle is never blocked.
How do I reset my progress?
Settings → clear your statistics removes your scores, streaks and history. Deleting the app also removes all local data.
Is this an official FIFA or club app?
No. Footy AI is an independent game and is not affiliated with FIFA, UEFA or any official organisation, league or club. Player and club names are used for identification only, and there's no real-money betting of any kind.
